Basildon Park is a country manor house about 45 minutes outside of Oxford. It is a Georgian mansion built in the Palladian style in the late 1700s. The house had fallen into disrepair until the 1950s when a couple called Lord and Lady Iffle bought it and transformed it back to its former splendor. The 2005 film version of
Pride and Prejudice used Basildon Park as the setting for Netherfield Park.
